Front row at a Moody Blues show! And Lily's first concert ever! |
Having missed the band last year out, this year I went to Cleveland (that's dedication!) to see the band. My mother came out from Albany, NY and the three of us scored first row tickets through the fan club. Lily was pretty shy about it, but had a great time. When we were walking out the main gate she said "I want to come back!" During the intermission I asked her if she liked it and she said "It's spectacular!" I still don't know where she learned that word at age three... Anyway, she kept catching Norda's eye even though she was on the other end from us, and during TA she bent over and gave Lily a wave, which Lily saw, and got shy and hid behind me, but she was happy about it! Graeme spotted her a number of times from behind the drums and made some faces at her. John saw her a lot because we were on his side and he'd smile at her, and even Justin spotted her a couple of times that I noticed and smiled at her. She quietly yelled to a couple of them (since she knows all their names) but was shy about it...
| Enough talk... pictures! |
In a great turn, security didn't care at all if I whipped out the camera for a couple of shots, although it was hard once it got darker and I had a nearly four year old in my lap!

Look! A smile!

About as good a picture of Norda I could get

One of my favorite shots as the sun set behind us...

Ready to meet Lily! Paul watching, he'd spotted Lily, too!

This is a closeup of the card/letter that Lily made by herself in the car ride out from Pittsburgh. She had a pad and colored pens and my mother gave her a cheat sheet that showed her how to spell "MOODY BLUES" and this is what she made and she said she wanted to give them. The image across the bottom is a rocket ship (ever see "Little Einsteins"?) and it's hard to see here, but the vertical lines are actually exclamation points.

Here she's getting a pick from Norda (bright orange, in both their hands at the moment this photo was snapped!), and Graeme is waiting to give her a set of his drumsticks!!

Being shy before getting a high five from the other drumstick recipient!
