In 2000, John Lodge re-issued his solo album Natural Avenue on vinyl through his website,
johnlodge.com (including Street Cafe and Threw It All Away).
It was then posted that people who had purchased the LP could get it signed by John at the summer tour stops.
So of course I went! And my girlfriend Mathilde and friend Eric were not about to let me backstage
alone again! It was a great time, John seemed really happy to be doing these short meets which was
great! He said he recognized the shirt from the previous year (see my page on meeting the band in
'99!) He almost stumbled on the spelling of Mathilde's name until she said it was French and he asked if
she was from France, and she said she was from Paris, and he spoke to her briefly in French
after that (making even me jealous). Eric asked to have his album signed to Eric and John asked
back "Clapton?" :-) Me? I think I mentioned I liked the website and all the cool stuff on it,
I handed him a note (knowing I wouldn't get out what I wanted) and then just tried to take pictures
without shaking too much, by pressing the camera hard against my face :-) Here are those pictures...
