PLYMOUTH - Nationally known television personality Ted Knight arrived here Thursday afternoon and toured the downtown Terryville area, including the Lock Museum and Town Hall, for about two hours, Bicentennial Committee Chairman J. Francis Ryan said.
Knight, a former Terryville resident, costars on the Mary Tyler Moore TV show Saturday nights as Ted Baxter, an inept television news show anchorman.
Ryan said Knight met acquaintances on the street and plans to call other friends during his weekend stay here.
Knight will be riding in the Bicentennial Parade Saturday at 2 p.m. and be a judge in the beard contest at 4 p.m., Ryan said.
