| This is by far one of my favorite movies, I can't count the number of times I've seen it. It's one of the few movies so good I actually purchased it instead of just renting on occasion. Putting one's finger on exactly what makes this movie so good is difficult, but here's my chance to try. Probably the most important feature of this movie is its cast. Caddyshack stars Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, and Bill Murray. |  |
 | Having so many wonderful lead comics has happened in other movies, too, but the magic in Caddyshack is that each of the actors share the spotlight pretty evenly. Everyone has great lines and great moments, not only one or two of them. This may be a disappointment to someone who watches for just one of these actors, but overall it creates a wonderful balance. |
| How popular is this movie? So popular that people can quote it without knowing the source of the quote on occasion. Probably the most familiar lines from the movie come from the scene with Chevy Chase, and the famous words "Be the ball." Also cited is the "Cinderella story" scene acted out by Bill Murray. I personally have seen a number of impressions done of Murray and Chase from other celebs when they're at a benefit golf game or the like. A lot of people call it a cult movie, which could be an accurate description of its intense popularity with a number of people. |  |
 | There was a sequel to the movie, Caddyshack II, and I remember seeing it once and being extremely diappointed by it. Ted Knight does not appear in it, and I've never seen a reference to it on any of the other Caddyshack web sites, so it appears that it was largely ignored by Caddyshack fans. |
